WHO MAKES BO CHUP LAGER?
Bo Chup is the brainchild of Singapore-based The Melting Pot Brewing Company, who were founded in 2025 to create world-class beers and more at streetwise prices.
WHERE IS BO CHUP LAGER BREWED?
Bo Chup is brewed by the award-winning master brewers at Heart of Darkness, just outside Saigon, Vietnam using the finest ingredients sourced from around the globe.
WHAT DOES "BO CHUP" MEAN?
It is a Singlish word from the Hokkien dialect that means:
"An attitude of deliberate detachment or disengagement, often in situations where attention, or participation is expected or warranted. Implies casual nonchalance, indifference or intentional avoidance of involvement."
IS BO CHUP A SINGAPOREAN BRAND?
It most certainly is. The Melting Pot Brewing Co. was founded in Singapore. And, Bo Chup was formulated here with the aim of saving Singapore’s bar culture one tap at a time. Our brand colour is a combination of the colours that make up Singapore’s flag. And our emblem is a mask fusing elements from Chinese, Malay and Indian culture, with a modern twist.
WHAT TYPE OF BEER IS BO CHUP?
Bo Chup is an ABV4.2% pilsner-style lager that’s German purity-law compliant. It’s light on the palette and even lighter on the wallet. Which makes it the ideal choice for any and all social gatherings island-wide.
WHAT IS THE ALCOHOL CONTENT OF BO CHUP LAGER?
A cheerfully manageable 4.2% ABV.
WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE USED IN BO CHUP LAGER?
Like any great pilsner, our ingredient list is short and sweet. Nothing more than water, malted barley, hops and yeast.
IS BO CHUP LAGER CONSIDERED A CRAFT BEER?
Bo Chup is a ‘craft beer’ only as far as it is brewed by a small independent brewery that pours their passion and expertise into every drop. That said, Bo Chup has been formulated to a broad spectrum of everyday beer drinkers. And to this end, we have kept it light, refreshing and sessionable. Just like a pilsner-style lager should be.

Bo Chup is simple and unpretentious. Despite being a world-class pilsner, we’ve done everything we can to ensure it’s priced as inclusively as possible. What makes Bo Chup so special is that you get a whole lot of beer for your buck.

Bo Chup is available at select watering holes across Singapore.
CAN I buy BO CHUP ONLINE or in supermarkets?
Not yet. But, give us time. Our primary goal for now is to reignite Singapore’s bar culture by reminding beer drinkers of the simple joys of spontaneous meet-ups and authentic chatter.
DOES BO CHUP COME IN BOTTLES AND ON DRAFT?
Yes, both. And we hope to offer cans in due course.
DOES BO CHUP SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Currently, Bo Chup is exclusively available in Singapore. But, if word gets out about our little secret, we may have to consider sharing it with the rest of the world.
WHAT DOES BO CHUP TASTE LIKE?
Imagine the nectar of the gods, lazily poured over a unicorn's horn then served in a chalice made of pure light and the dreams of little puppies.

DOES BO CHUP PAIR WITH ANY FOOD?
Bo Chup pairs well with everything from steamy afternoon barbecues to late night char kuay teow that you can’t really remember, but you know tasted great.
